L’Aguañaz is a shawl born from the first water that appears high in the mountains, when the spring breaks through the stone and begins to carve a channel. Its blue and green hues evoke the fine rivulets that trickle among roots, moss, and leaves, bringing freshness and life to the Asturian forest.
Handwoven on a loom with organic merino wool and dyed with natural dyes, L’Aguañaz connects the act of wrapping oneself up with the water cycle that sustains the forests. Just as tree roots retain moisture and feed springs and streams, each thread of this shawl holds the memory of the water that accompanied the spinning, dyeing, and washing process.
In the mountains of Asturias, the water that springs from the heights filters down, disappears, and reappears, forming springs, rivulets, and rivers that have shaped valleys and paths. L’Aguañaz pays homage to the silent journey of water, offering a unique, soft, and lightweight piece that envelops the body with the same gentleness with which a stream flows around stones and nourishes the life of the forest.
